AMIS Online
Restructuring around current restrictions
With the current coronavirus restrictions, it is good to see that not all of the world is completely locked down; there are many businesses that are vital to the ongoing well-being of people and the economy in general. Many organisations have restructured to ensure that they can continue to provide the products and services that their clients require.
MCP has also had to consider how it can continue to provide its services, which in the past have relied on our consulting staff and training staff working on client premises in a face-to-face situation. We work with companies in the pharmaceutical, biotech, food and power generation sectors and we have had to adapt our services to ensure that these vital businesses can continue to produce.
Given the need to change, costs have become an important consideration along with the need to drive productivity and efficiency, caused by the reduction in numbers of people available for work, because of the need to self-isolate.
The need for continuous supplies
One of the key drivers of cost and efficiency is maintenance and ensuring that equipment does not fail is even more important in the present situation given the need for a continuous supply of drugs and food.
MCP has been at the forefront of the development of products and services to support the manufacturing industry for over 30 years and we continue to do so. Our flagship product - AMIS (Asset Maintenance Improvement Service) has been used for improving maintenance services and equipment reliability in over 6,000 sites worldwide.
The evolution of AMIS
AMIS depends on being able to work on a client’s site in a face-to-face situation; however, this is currently not a viable option for the majority of companies. Therefore, we have had to develop alternative solutions.
The solution is to deliver a remote version of AMIS. Whilst this does not provide all of the benefits of the traditional face-to-face approach, it does provide the tools for identifying improvements and the completion of a gap analysis.
The Remote AMIS Solution has been developed with the use of software tools which enable the client to complete the necessary background information. This exercise was traditionally in a paper based format and has now been written into software which can be readily accessed and can be used by the clients team to answer each question. The process now includes remote sessions to validate the various questions and responses, supported by one to one interviews with selected members of the organisation.
Developing an ongoing action plan
Working with the organisations team, even remotely, enables us to develop an ongoing action programme. As well as developing the results and scores that are a feature of the AMIS process, the software will support the identification and prediction of savings.
The whole assessment process can be tailored to fit in with clients staff diaries over a period of a week with short to medium length sessions with the MCP facilitator and the various client staff. The results of the assessments are then provided in a feedback session.
AMIS Online - Tried and Tested
Using this remote assessment approach has helped our current clients, in a variety of sectors, to continue on their improvement programme with minimal interruption which is vital in the current climate.
